Miryani’s Family & Educational Support
Miryani’s family consists of four girls and one boy. Initially, Miryani's elder sister took care of the younger siblings while staying close to home. Their parents, who leave early in the morning for work, entrusted two younger children to her care.

Recognizing the challenges of child labor and lack of education, Don Bosco Navajeevan intervened and counseled the family. With continued follow-up, Miryani and her sibling were enrolled in the Up Navajeevan Day Bridge School, where they attended for two years.
However, due to relocation, the children dropped out again, disrupting their education. After further intervention, Miryani’s elder sister, Ritham, was enrolled in high school, while the younger children continued in the Day Bridge program to develop regular learning habits.
A major obstacle arose when Miryani’s mother, influenced by social and financial pressures, wanted her daughter to quit school and work to support the family. The family considered keeping Miryani at home for a few months and engaging her in domestic work.
Observing this, Don Bosco Navajeevan, through counselor Shashi, stepped in to ensure uninterrupted education for Miryani and her sister Miriyani. The parents were counseled and gradually agreed to support their education.
To ease the family's financial burden, both children received a sponsorship of ₹10,000 each, which helped in supporting their educational needs. With continuous efforts from the team and financial assistance, all five children are now regularly attending school.
This case highlights the ongoing challenges in ensuring education for children from vulnerable communities and the importance of consistent intervention, counseling, and financial support to secure their future.
